DESCRIPTION:Meeting point \nJoin us for a stroll along the Quayside\, followed by a soft drink at Quayside Garden Newcastle. \nMeeting point: 1:30pm at the Millennium Bridge\, Newcastle side \nRoute details: The route is 0.9 miles\, step-free and paved throughout. We will cross the Millennium Bridge\, taking the inclined path up towards the Glasshouse (formerly Sage). We’ll follow the footpath along the river\, crossing back to Newcastle via the Swing Bridge\, before making our way back to our meeting point\, stopping off for a soft drink at the ‘Quayside Garden’. DESCRIPTION:Walking football is a fun and safe way for players to enjoy football and socialise together\, in teams up to 7-a-side.\nWalking football involves no running\, jogging\, or heading. Physical contact is kept to a minimum – no slide tackling or tackling from behind. The ball has to stay below chest height. \nWe run a walking football group every Wednesday from 1-2pm. We play 4 quarters of 10 minutes each\, with mixed teams of men and women and a variety of age groups and abilities. DESCRIPTION:On the second and fourth Wednesday of the month\, we hold an informal drop-in session at Shieldfield Art Works (SAW)\, between 2-4pm. Tea\, coffee and biscuits are on offer and we promise you a warm welcome!\nThis is a chance to have a cuppa and a catch up with friends old and new. This group is based around friendly conversation – our members’ experiences are invaluable and through building relationships with one another we can develop a strong and supportive community for brain injury survivors and their families.
