DESCRIPTION:We have a special social evening with the Rock Choir coming to join us for an evening of songs! \nAlso\, come along to the monthly carers space. This informal\, supportive space will be facilitated by Julie King\, Family Support Officer. \nJoin us for peer support and the chance to chat to others sharing similar experiences. Each session will be shaped by you and focus on what is important to you. \nOur group is on Wednesday this week\, at Walkergate Park from 6-8pm! \nTea\, coffee and biscuits are on offer\, and we promise you a warm welcome! \nUsually about 30 people attend this group each week – this includes Headway Tyneside members living with brain injury in the community\, inpatients receiving rehabilitation\, and families and carers.\nAs well as plenty of opportunity for friendly conversation\, we also run a different activity each week. SUMMARY:Walking Football
DESCRIPTION:Walking football is a fun and safe way for players to enjoy football and socialise together\, in teams up to 7-a-side. \nWalking football involves no running\, jogging\, or heading. Physical contact is kept to a minimum – no slide tackling or tackling from behind. The ball has to stay below chest height. \nOur walking football group runs every Wednesday from 1-2pm. We take regular drinks breaks\, and have with mixed teams of men and women and a variety of age groups and abilities. The coaches at Newcastle United Foundation are all highly skilled\, and make sure that everyone feels included and goes home with a smile on their face. \nThese sessions are free of charge\, thanks for kind sponsorship from Sintons. \nWe always welcome new players – if you would like to give it a try\, please contact us to find out more.
