DESCRIPTION:Walking football is a fun and safe way for players to enjoy football and socialise together\, in teams up to 7-a-side.\nWalking football involves no running\, jogging or heading. Physical contact is kept to a minimum – no slide tackling or tackling from behind. The ball has to stay below chest height. \nWe run a walking football group at NUCastle every Wednesday from 1-2pm. We play 4 quarters of 10 minutes each\, with mixed teams of men and women and a variety of age groups and abilities. These sessions are free of charge\, thanks for kind sponsorship from Sintons. \nWe always welcome new players – if you would like to give it a try please contact us to find out more.

DESCRIPTION:We run a social group every Tuesday evening at Walkergate Park from 6-8pm. Tea\, coffee and biscuits are on offer and we promise you a warm welcome!\nUsually about 30 people attend this group each week – this includes Headway Tyneside members living with brain injury in the community\, inpatients receiving rehabilitation\, and families and carers.\nAs well as plenty of opportunity for friendly conversation\, we also run a different activity each week. Keep your eyes on our event page to see what is coming up! Our regular activities include table top games\, quizzes\, boccia\, family support sessions\, guest talks and much more. \nBoccia and Family Drop in with Julie King. \nWe will be playing a game of boccia – a type of carpet bowls. We also have a family support worker available for family members to chat to over the evening.
