Helping you stay well & feel connected
We run regular social events and outings for our members. We know it can feel daunting to attend a new group for the first time – our friendly staff team will make sure you receive a warm welcome.
We run regular social events and outings for our members.
Spending time with other people affected by brain injury gives you opportunities to build new and supportive friendships. Our events include:
- sport and fitness
- community outings
- social evenings
- drop in sessions
- celebrations
- fundraising activities
Headway Tyneside group activities are a great way of meeting people and developing friendships. Sharing experiences and coping strategies can be invaluable. Our social groups and activities provide a space for members to share stories and ideas with other people affected by brain injury, in a safe and supportive environment.
The details of all our regular group meetings can be found on our calendar. Our Tuesday evening group offers a variety of activities including quizzes and boccia. The Wednesday drop-in session is an informal group where you can pop in for a quick chat or stay for the afternoon. Walking football each Wednesday is an inclusive session for players of all abilities. It is also a way to become more active following a brain injury.
Headway Tyneside runs monthly outings, offering something a little bit different to our members. Recent trips have included walks in the local community (always finishing at a coffee shop!), laser tag, and bowling. Sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of the page to make sure you stay up to date with our latest news and events.
Please get in touch if you would like to join one of our sessions so we can answer any questions you may have and help put your mind at ease.
