What’s on?
There’s lots of exhibitions on in the Baltic this January, one being Heartwood (Sycamore Gap), an exhibition of five bespoke prints created from a disc of the trunk of the felled Sycamore Gap tree.
Another is Photo-sensitive, a lightbox commission by Baltic’s Young Producers, asking ‘How can we protect the planet in the process of making art?‘
There’s also Happy Mart (Artistic pop-up shop), a collaboration between textile artist Bianco Perry and ceramicist Alex Sickling. Their work, all of it available to purchase, is inspired by finding humour in the everyday, being out in nature, hugging the dog and eating a Greggs together.
Come along for looking at the exhibitions, browsing the gift shop and popping for a coffee afterwards in the Baltic riverside café!
