We are grateful for the support of volunteers in delivering our charity’s objectives – you can play a vital role in supporting local people living with brain injury.

We welcome applicants from adults of all backgrounds and experiences who share our passion for helping people affected by brain injury across the North East to live a better life.

Many students find Headway Tyneside a great charity to help them gain valuable work experience, for example those training to become allied health professionals or health and social care workers.

Retired people can gain satisfaction from knowing that by giving only a few hours a week, they can help a worthwhile cause, share their skills, and be engaged in the local community.

Perhaps you or a loved one have been directly affected by brain injury and want to ‘give something back’.

Whatever motivates you to support our charity, we are keen to hear from you!

It could be a few hours a week giving administrative or social media support, helping to deliver activities for those with brain injury, or organising outings and events. We run groups every week and always benefit from extra hands on deck. We are particularly keen to hear from those with group facilitation skills.

Please get in touch to introduce yourself, sharing your contact details. We’ll then have an informal chat about what roles may be suitable for you, and send you a volunteer application form.

Please note that we may request a DBS check as part of our recruitment process.
