Taking your next steps

A brain injury can affect every aspect of your life.

As you adjust to the long-term effects of brain injury, we can support you to move forwards and develop new skills including:

  • regular brain injury education courses
  • commissioned projects such as vocational rehabilitation
  • skills based programmes with partner organisations, such as cookery

Our staff team and advisory board are experts in brain injury and passionate about supporting our members to move forwards in their recovery journeys; this can be through providing members with knowledge and strategies to adjust to or overcome some of the difficulties encountered after brain injury. Headway Tyneside runs events and courses across the year to help educate and upskill our members and their families. Keep your eye on our events page for information about upcoming opportunities.

We also love to work in partnership with other charity organisations in the local area – our members have recently enjoyed participating in a cookery course delivered by Nourish Food School and Newcastle United Foundation’s 12th Man Programme, supporting our members to get fit, lose weight and feel better.

“The facilitator was fantastic at explaining what can be a very complicated subject. I learnt so much from this course.”
